What is Quality?

• T**he degree to which a component, system or process meets specified requirements and/or user/customer needs and expectations.**

• In software development, quality can be the result of three things:

  • People
  • Product
  • Project

People

• Refers to individual involved in the software development process.
  • developers, testers, project managers, designers and various stakeholder.
• The quality of the people involved, the attitude of the people involved towards quality will give great impact of the overall quality of the software product.

Product

• Means the functionality of the product that matter to the customer.
  • Usability, robustness, reliability, performance and various quality attributes.
• Quality product is critical factor in determining the success in the market.
